Frances Conroy Set to Star in NBC Drama BEAUTIFUL PEOPLE

According to Deadline.com, Tony-award nominee and 'American Horror Story' actress Frances Conroy has been cast in the upcoming NBC futuristic drama series BEAUTIFUL PEOPLE. Earlier this week, NBC announced that actors James Murray and Patrick Heusinger would also be starring in the show. The dramatic project has been penned by Michael McDonald, script writer for ABC's 'Cougar Town'.

BEAUTIFUL PEOPLE will take place in a futuristic society in which human beings live together among life-like androids called 'Mechanicals'. In the show, Conroy will play a woman named Lydia whose deceased husband was the founder of the company that makes the Mechanicals. James Murray will play Lydia's son,who stirs up controversy when he suggests that the 'Mechanicals' should enjoy the same civil rights that humans have.

Frances Conroy received a 2000 Tony nomination for her role in 'The Ride Down Mt. Morgan'. Her other Broadway credits include Our Town, Broken Glass, The Rehearsal, Ring Around the Moon and The Lady from Dubuque. Other TV credits include appearances on the CBS comedy 'How I Met Your Mother' and the HBO series 'Six Feet Under'.
