Florida Repertory Theatre announced new subscription pricing for the remaining 5 plays in its 11th season.

Beginning January 9th, the new year is the time to see live theatre in Fort Myers with a captivating Irish drama, a laugh-out-loud comedy, a brand-new murder mystery, a touching comedy about eighty-somethings in love and the funny story of England's favorite housewife

"I always say that if you paid full price for a ticket, thank you," quips Producing Artistic Director, Robert Cacioppo, "but with savings up to 52%, there is no need to. Our mission has always been to provide high-quality professional theatre that everyone could afford, and the $99 Rush Pass, our largest discount ever, ensures that even in difficult times, everyone will be able to enjoy the magic of live theatre."

Florida Rep offers a variety of packages that range from $99 to $175, and allow patrons to choose 3, 4 or 5 plays. Individual packages vary, but each subscriber is guaranteed the same basic benefits: best available seating, lost ticket insurance, savings on additional tickets and a subscription to the Rep's quarterly newsletter, Repartee, with in-depth features on the plays, programming and upcoming events.

Brian Friel's Dancing at Lughnasa runs January 9 through February 1, and is a memory play told through the eyes of Michael Evans, now a man, who recalls the summer he spent with his mother and her four maiden sisters in a tiny and impoverished Irish home in 1936. Set against the backdrop of the pagan festival of Lughnasa, the story of changing times and the strength of one family's bond unfolds as the music of their first wireless set casts its spell under the hot August sun.

The comedy, Alone Together by Lawrence Roman, opens February 13 and runs through March 8, and tells the story of what happens when a newly empty nest just won't stay empty. Set in 1977, Alone Together will amuse as one bell-bottomed & tie-dyed child after another comes back home to live with mom and dad - ruining their joyful silence.

The winter brings laughs, and the spring brings two Southeastern United States premieres to life in, with two new plays by Joe DiPietro. From the author of Over the River and Through the Woods and I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change, come two very unique and refreshingly new plays, The Art of Murder that opens on March 20 and runs to April 12, and The Last Romance, running April 24 to May 17.

The Art of Murder is a brand-new murder mystery that tells the story of Jack Brooks, a world-renowned artist who is willing to do anything to get what he wants. But even with a knife behind his back, he'd be wise to look over his shoulder in this double crossing comic thriller.

Also by DiPietro, The Last Romance proves that a healthy heart is vital to a long, happy life - and few things in life can make the human heart beat young again quite like the feeling of falling in love. So it is for 80-year-old Ralph and the slightly-younger Carol, who happen upon each other at the local dog park - and set their hearts aflutter in only the best ways. It's a classic boy
meets girl, boy gets girl story. Only older.

Florida Rep's eleventh season closes with the Olivier Award Winning Best Comedy, Shirley Valentine by Willy Russel, May 29 to June 7. Life is pretty much same old, same old for old Shirley, an ordinary middle-aged Liverpool housewife who converses more with the wall than her husband while preparing breakfast. But lucky her, a friend has won a trip for two to Greece - and when Shirley decides to go, she has no idea it'll truly be the trip of a lifetime.

"The second half of our season has something for everyone," Cacioppo finished, "from light-hearted comedy to riveting drama, and we want you to be a part of the magic."
