The first trailer and premiere poster for FILTH starring stage and screen superstar James McAvoy has finally been released - and it's a doozy!

FILTH stars McAvoy as corrupt cop Bruce Robertson in an adaptation of idiosyncratic TRAINSPOTTING author Irvine Welsh's novel of the same name.

The film also stars Jamie Bell, Imogen Poots, Jim Broadbent, Eddie Marsan and Kate Dickie, among others. FILTH was directed by Jon S. Baird.

Set to the pulsating sounds of Scissor Sisters Euro smash "Filthy/Gorgeous", the red band trailer for FILTH is a sensory experience that assuredly mimics the feeling of an illicit high not unlike that resulting from the drugs imbibed by the out of control lead character portrayed by McAvoy in the film.

As the poster intones, "It's a filthy job getting to the top, but somebody's got to do it," and the person for that job seemingly is none other than Mr. McAvoy!

More information is available at the official FILTH site here. No release date has yet been set for the UK or US.

McAvoy currently stars in William Shakespeare's MACBETH in the West End, concluding on April 27. More information on the production is available here.
