JOIN US FOR SNAPSHOTS OF:
THANKS FOR THE SCABIES, JERKFACE!: Dan Bernitt, Lexington, KY; Meet Dan. His parent's talk to stuffed animals, he lost an arm wrestling match to a drag queen, and all of Wall-Mart knows that he has scabies.
GREAT HYMN OF THANKSGIVING/COVERSATION STORM: Around a dinner table, three actors sing, pray, beat forks, deliver the news, and snap between scenes in mid-sentence in this brutal but timely deconstruction of the War-on-Terror.
PARTS IS PARTS: the real kim harmon , San Francisco, CA; Blood, death, baked goods and the lovely type of hope that only blossoms out of political, spiritual, and personal despair.
HER MAJESTY: EXIT Theatre, San Francisco, CA; A door slamming, quick-change farce in which Queens quarrel with divas, dressers dally with dullards and gossips get the goat of gigolos.
STUCK!: Jennie Franks, Telluride, CO; A one- woman show about being locked in a Starbucks bathroom somewhere in Midtown. But being stuck in a toilet is just the beginning
AMERICAN BADASS (Or 12 Characters In Search Of A National Identity): Chris Harcum, Brooklyn, NY; One of downtown NYC's favorite solo performers returns with this multiple-character examination of the State of the world as we head into another round of election hijinks.
ANTONIN MON ARTAUD: Etdc Projects Lab, NY, NY; An irreverent performance-art-psychodrama that fuses the gory characters of the Grand Guignol and the shocking awareness of the Theatre of Cruelty to explore Artaud's brilliant, lucid madness.
DIARY OF A MAD FASHIONISTA: S & D Productions, NY, NY; Based on the wildly popular comic blog, the most feared woman in fashion (after Anna Wintour) holds forth on love, abusing the help, and fashion.
XY(T): Kestryl Lowrey NY, NY; Do you have the balls to become a man? XY(T) brings to life a series of questions, contradictions, and characters around the theme of testosterone.
DIVERSEY HARBOR: Don't Eat the Pictures Productions, NY, NY; Explores the loneliness and the desire to connect in cities through monologues by four characters.
REBEL WITHOUT A NICHE: Too Much Free Time Productions, Brooklyn, NY; The most awkward dead-end jobs anyone's ever worked, injected with a high-octane cocktail of drollness! A Tale of an unemployed artist supporting himself with a series of bizarre jobs in New York City.
HAP SCOTCH: Sapling Players NY, NY; A tour of lives in transition. Before one settles on a lifestyle, career, religion, or partner hosts of adventures and (pre)occupations influence the unmanageable tug of war.
