FREEZE FRAME: Bernadette Peters and Mary Tyler Moore at Broadway Barks 14!

Yesterday, July 14, Mary Tyler Moore and Bernadette Peters hosted the 14th annual BROADWAY BARKS!, a star-studded dog and cat adoption event benefiting New York City animal shelters and adoption agencies. See a photo of the hosts onstage below, and check back later for full coverage!
 
Marking its 14th anniversary of the organization, BROADWAY BARKS! once again helped many of New York City's shelter animals find permanent homes by informing New Yorkers about the plight of the thousands of homeless dogs and cats in the metropolitan area.
 
Produced by Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS, sponsored by the ASPCA (The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals) and with additional sponsorship by the New York Times, the event took place in Shubert Alley, the heart of the Broadway Theater District (located between 44th and 45th Streets, between Broadway and Eighth Avenues).

BROADWAY BARKS! featured a sampling of potential pets from several New York City animal shelters and adoption agencies, including ASPCA, Abandoned Angels Cocker Spaniel Rescue, Adopt A Boxer, Animal Care & Control, Animal Haven, Anjellicle Cats, Animal Rescue Fund of the Hamptons, BARC, Bidawee, Bobbi & the Strays, City Critters, Humane Society of New York, Husky House, KittyKind, Long Island Grey Hound Transfer, Loving Touch, Manhattan Valley Cat Rescue, Metro Malts, Mid Atlantic Great Dane, Pet I Care, PLUTO, Russell Refuge, Save Kitty, Sean Casey Animal Rescue, Stray from the Heart, Tigger Foundation, Urban Cat League, North Shore Animal League, and more.

Walter McBrideAs a 14 year old youth, Walter was transfixed by his first Broadway Show, the original production of 'GREASE'. His Journey to celebrity photojournalism began that fateful night. Meeting, photographing and getting to know the cast inspired him to spend his professional life doing what he loved. Walter moved to Manhattan and for a leading role as a Photographer & Photo Researcher. Currently headlining in New Jersey with his partner Richard and family members Dali (Jack Russell) & Gala (Schnoodle). Recently he made his Broadway debut sharing the stage with Hugh Jackman in 'Hugh Jackman on Broadway' as well as receiving the Actors' Equity Association Gypsy Spirit Award.
