Everybody Say Yeah for Billy Porter - Ten Reason's to Love Broadway's Ultimate Powerhouse!

Broadway favorite Billy Porter is still killing it eight times a week at the Al Hirschfeld Theatre as everyone's favorite drag queen, Lola. The star of Kinky Boots just celebrated his birthday over the weekend, on September 21, and the occasion got us thinking about all of the reasons that we adore the Tony Award winner.

He might be best known for his starring roles in Broadway musicals, but BiIlly is also a brilliant dramatic actor, having starred in the 2010 revival of Angels in America and Topdog/Underdog, as well as several movies and television series.

6. He keeps his fans in the loop.

Despite his crazy schedule, Billy always takes the time to keep his fans in the loop via Twitter and Instagram.

7. He is beloved by the theatre community.

Billy has been a standout member of the Broadway community for years, and he has the accolades to prove it. He is the recipient of a Drama Desk Award, Grammy Award (for Best Musical Theater Album), the Tony Award, and even a Sardi's caricature.

8. He has a big heart.

Billy has lended his talents to many charities in recent years, including Fueling the Frontlines, Mama Foundation for the Arts, Marjorie's Fund, Our Time, Broadway Dreams Foundation and of course, Broadway Cares/Equity Fights Aids.
