The hit FOR THE RECORD series breathes a new life into the movies by adapting the works of great directors into a theatrical concert setting. FOR THE RECORD: DEAR JOHN HUGHES at West Hollywood's DBA will showcase the works of acclaimed director John Hughes, by reliving his acclaimed coming of age 1980's teen flicks including Sixteen Candles, The Breakfast Club, Weird Science, Pretty In Pink, Some Kind of Wonderful and Ferris Bueller's Day Off. 2015 marks the 30th anniversary of the release of The Breakfast Club, the John Hughes classic which epitomizes one of the most influential pop cultural contributions of our time and changed the way many young people looked at everything from class to friendship, love to sex and fashion to music. These themes are explored throughout FOR THE RECORD: DEAR JOHN HUGHES by this 'brat pack' for the modern age that includes leading talent from stage, the recording world and screen as well as rising stars - all embodying iconic movie characters and giving them new musical voices. The immersive concert mash-up, where iconic music and moments from the John Hughes' movies spring to life with an epic new wave inspired soundtrack, includes songs such as Don't You Forget About Me, We Are Not Alone, If You Leave, Pretty In Pink, If You Were Here, True as well as classic moments like Danke Shoen, Twist And Shout, Try A Little Tenderness and many more.

The all-star cast includes Evan Rachel Wood (Thirteen, Across The Universe), Rumer Willis (House Bunny, 90210), Tracie Thoms (Death Proof, Rent), Lindsey Gort (Carrie Diaries), Jackie Seiden (Jersey Boys), Ruby Lewis (We Will Rock You), Tomasina Abate, Joanna Jones, Kelley Jakle, Olivia Harris, Ciaran McCarthy, Patrick Mulvey (Broadway's Billy Elliot), Peter Porte (Baby Daddy), Doug Kreeger (Broadway's Les Miserables), Brian Justin Crum (Broadway's Wicked, We Will Rock You), Payson Lewis, Jonah Platt, James Byous, Zach Villa (Broadway's War Horse, Here Lies Love), Michael Thomas Grant, and Alex Wyse (Broadway's Lysistrata Jones).

Created by Shane Scheel, Christopher Lloyd Bratten and Anderson Davis, the FOR THE RECORD series reinvents cabaret for a new generation. Choreography by Emmy Award nominee Spencer Liff (So You Think You Can Dance). Christopher Lloyd Bratten serves as Music Director. Directed by Anderson Davis. Produced by Shane Scheel and Siobhan O'Neill for Ad Astra Live. The series has featured the works of acclaimed directors Quentin Tarantino, Baz Luhrmann, Coen Brothers, Paul Thomas Anderson, Martin Scorsese, Robert Zemeckis, and Garry and Penny Marshall.

The series originally began in 2009 in a small bar in Los Angeles, CA. Over the past few years, FOR THE RECORD has become the "must-see show" in Los Angeles and has grown in popularity around the country. FOR THE RECORD has been seen in New York, Ace Hotel in Palm Springs, SXSW in Austin, TX and this past summer at the Montreal International Jazz Festival. From March 5 - 15, FOR THE RECORD: DEAR JOHN HUGHES will simultaneously play at Chicago's Broadway Playhouse at Water Tower Place. And beginning in November 2015, FOR THE RECORD: DEAR JOHN HUGHES can be seen on board Norwegian Cruise Line's new and largest ship ever, Norwegian Escape.

FOR THE RECORD'S home at DBA offers audiences 220 completely unobstructed views, enhanced sound and lights, an expanded 6-piece band, tiered staging, gourmet snack offerings and a cocktail program crafted specifically for the production. Established in December of 2013, DBA is a 6000 square foot next level neighborhood cultural center hosting the most vital and relevant live music, DJ's, spoken word and theatrical events.

As a series, For The Record has been featured on CBS, NBC, Fox, ABC, Entertainment Weekly, and Access Hollywood.Vanity Fair describes For The Record as "a postmodern cabaret that is taking the city by storm." The London Times called the series "entrancing, funny, over the top, sexy, and brilliantly performed." Vice proclaimed, "Dayamn girl!" and Elledescribes the show as, "a spectacle of music and dancing!"
