Ellen Barkin, Lily Tomlin, et al. Honored at Savannah Film Festival Today

Academy Award, Golden Globe and Emmy Award-winning writer/director Oliver Stone (Platoon, Wall Street), Academy Award and Golden Globe nominated and Emmy Award winning Actress Lily Tomlin (9 to 5, Nashville), Golden Globe nominated and Emmy and Tony award-winning actress Ellen Barkin (The Big Easy, Ocean's 13) and actor James Marsden (X-Men, Hairspray) have been set to be honored as part of the 14th Annual Savannah Film Festival, which will take place from October 29th to November 5th.

Gala Special Screenings to include Michel Hazanavicius' 'The Artist', Roman Polanski's 'Carnage', David Cronenberg's 'A Dangerous Method', Sam Levinson's 'Another Happy Day' (starring Ellen Barkin) and Drake Doremus' 'Like Crazy'.

Hosted by the Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD), a private, nonprofit, accredited university, the Savannah Film Festival has become one of the largest entertainment events in the Southeast. The university offers the only major film program in the United States integrated within an acclaimed art and design university. In the past seven years, the university has been one of the top 10 U.S. film schools in producing Student Academy Award finalists.

Other special guests confirmed to date include Alec Baldwin and James Toback, Universal Pictures President Ron Meyer, Bill Pullman and Famke Janssen.

Other Special screenings will include Mark and Jay Duplass' 'Jeff, Who Lives at Home', Ralph Fiennes' 'Coriolanus', Lynne Ramsay's 'We Need to Talk about Kevin', Taika Waititi's 'Boy', Famke Janssen's 'Bringing Up Bobby', and Agnieszka Holland's 'In Darkness'.

Almost all the nighttime gala screenings from the past five or six years have gone on to receive Academy Award nominations in one category or another. Over the years, the festival has US premiered 2 Pedro Almodovar films as well as films by Robert Redford and Woody Allen. Special gala screenings-all before their national release-have included Slumdog Millionaire, Precious, Up in the Air, Babel, Sideways, The Diving Bell and the Butterfly, Amelie, The Wrestler and last year's BLACK SWAN and 127 Hours.

Past festival attendees and honorees include: Peter O'Toole, Michael Douglas, Jane Fonda, Sidney Lumet, Ian McKellen, Isabella RosselliniLiam Neeson, Vanessa Redgrave, Norman Jewison, Tommy Lee Jones, John Waters,James Franco, Roger Ebert, Terrence Malick, Sydney PollackMalcolm McDowell, and Milos Forman.
