Elizabeth Marvel to Return to OTHER DESERT CITIES, 3/6

OTHER-DESERT-CITIES-20010101

Lincoln Center Theater (under the direction of Andre Bishop, Artistic Director, and Bernard Gersten, Executive Producer) has announced that Elizabeth Marvel will return to the cast of its critically acclaimed production of OTHER DESERT CITIES, a new play by Jon Robin Baitz, directed by Joe Mantello, beginning Tuesday, March 6 at the Booth Theatre (222 West 45 Street). Ms. Marvel, who created the role of Brooke Wyeth when OTHER DESERT CITIES premiered at LCT's Mitzi E. Newhouse Theater last winter, will join Stockard Channing, Stacy Keach, Judith Light and Justin Kirk in the production, replacing Rachel Griffiths who will play her final performance in the play on Sunday, March 4.

In OTHER DESERT CITIES, Brooke Wyeth, a once promising novelist, returns home after a six-year absence to celebrate Christmas in Palm Springs with her parents, former members of the Reagan inner-circle, her brother and her aunt. When Brooke announces that she is about to publish a memoir focusing on an explosive chapter in the family's history, the holiday reunion is thrown into turmoil and the Wyeths are both bound together and torn apart as they struggle to come to terms with their past.

Elizabeth Marvel has also appeared in the LCT productions of Edward Albee's Seascape and Wendy Wasserstein's An American Daughter. A multiple Obie Award-winner for her performances in Hedda Gabler, A Streetcar Named Desire, Therese Raquin and Misalliance, her other stage credits both on Broadway and off include Top Girls, Taking Sides, The Seagull, The Little Foxes, Troilus and Cressida, King Lear and Fifty Words. Her film and TV credits include True Grit, Synecdoche, Burn After Reading, Lights Out, The Good Wife and Nurse Jackie.

The playing schedule for OTHER DESERT CITIES is Tuesday evenings at 7pm, Wednesday through Saturday evenings at 8pm, with matinees Wednesday and Saturdays at 2pm and Sundays at 3pm. Tickets, priced from $56.50 to $126.50 are available at telecharge.com or by visiting www.lct.org. A limited number of tickets priced at $31.50 will be available at every performance through LincTix, LCT's new program for 21 to 35 year olds. For information and to enroll, visit LincTix.org. PLEASE NOTE THERE WILL BE SPECIAL HOLIDAY PERFORMANCES FRIDAY, DECEMBER 23 at 2pm (no performance Sunday matinee, December 25) and SUNDAY, JANUARY 1 at 2pm and 7pm (no performance Saturday evening, December 31).
