Ed Asner to Play President FDR at Fitzgerald Theater, 9/9

By:

Ed Asner will be playing the role of  FDR, in a one-man show coming to the Fitzgerald Theater Sept. 9.

Crusty but lovable as Lou Grant, Emmy-winning actor Ed Asner will play Franklin Delano Roosevelt in a one-man show for one-night-only, on Sept. 9 at the Fitzgerald Theater in St. Paul.

The show is based on "Sunrise at Campobello," by Dore Schary, which was both a movie and a Broadway play. It follows the 32nd president as he reflects on his years in office, from 1933 to 1945.
Asner, maybe best known for his recurring role as Mary's boss on "The Mary Tyler Moore Show," has won 7 Emmy Awards and 5 Golden Globe awards for his acting.

Tickets, which go on sale Aug. 3, are $39. For further information, please call 651-290-1200.
