East 3rd Ensemble Presents 'THE WEIRD SISTERS' 12/5-12/20
By: Gabrielle Sierra
East 3rd Ensemble will present its inaugural production, The Weird Sisters, written by Zack Calhoon & directed by Ricardo Rietmuller. The Weird Sisters, with Production Design by Charles Alexander Khaikin & Sound Design by James B. Garver, will be presented at the Gene Frankel Theater from December 5th - 20th.
The Weird Sisters is a prequel to William Shakespeare's Macbeth, that explores the back-story of the witches & how they came to be. Muriel, Seonaid & Rhoswen are violently rebuked by the men of Duncan's diseased government & choose to curse Scotland in order to cleanse the corruption of its current tyrannous regime.Featured in this AEA Approved Showcase Production are Walter Brandes*, Susan Ferrara*, Catherine Friesen, Erin Layton, Michael Lopez*, Kunal Prasad*, Christine Verleny & James Ware.Founded by NYU-Tisch graduate Ricardo Riethmuller, East 3rd Ensemble's mission is to "facilitate art anytime, anywhere, any place." The challenge is to create an independent theatre & film company whose main objective is to create visceral, physical art. With a resident team of artists, East 3rd Ensemble is truly a new force in New York City.DATES: December 5 - 20, 2008TIMES: Wed. - Sat. @ 8pm, Sat. & Sun. @ 2pm
