Variety reports that Bradley Cooper, currently starring in Broadway's THE ELEPHANT MAN, will be among the speakers at Nat Geo's Got Your 6's panel on the portrayal of veterans in entertainment. Cooper recently received an Oscar nomination for his portrayal of Iraqi war veteran Chris Kyle in the hit film, "American Sniper."

Commented Chris Marvin, executive director of Got Your 6,"As Hollywood continues to tell powerful stories about veterans and the military, we want to acknowledge those who work hard to get it right."

Others expected to appear at the event include First Lady Michelle Obama, Greg Silverman, president of creative development and worldwide production at Warner Bros.; Charlie Ebersol, president and CEO of The Company; Courteney Monroe, CEO of National Geographic Channels; producer Bruce Cohen; Lori McCreary, co-president of the Producers Guild of America; and Sarah Schechter, president of Berlanti Productions.

Cooper is a longtime supporter of the Got Your 6 campaign which was launched in 2012 after Michelle Obama made a request to the entertainment industry to portray veterans in a more positive light, as part of her Joining Forces initiative. Got Your 6 derives from the military term meaning, "I've got your back."

About Got Your 6:

Got Your 6 is a campaign that unites nonprofit, Hollywood, and government partners. Got Your 6 believes that veterans are leaders, team builders, and problem solvers who have the unique potential to strengthen communities across the country.

As a coalition, Got Your 6 works to integrate these perspectives into popular culture, engage veterans and civilians together to foster understanding, and empower veterans to lead in their communities.

Got Your 6 knows that most veterans leave the military seeking new challenges, and THE CAMPAIGN ensures that there are opportunities for them to continue their service.
