Duncan Stewart, Benton Whitley Open New Casting Office

Duncan Stewart, Director of Casting at National Artists Management Company since 2007, has joined colleague Benton Whitley to form Duncan Stewart AND COMPANY, a New York-based legit casting office.

Heidi Birkett rounds out the principal team, acting as the firm's UK Casting Consultant/Liaison in London.

Duncan Stewart AND COMPANY focuses primarily on casting for theater, film and television; talent consultation for numerous Broadway, Off-Broadway, West End projects and productions in development; and seminars/workshops for industry professionals, business leaders and U.S./Canadian college students.

Stewart and Whitley will continue casting duties for producers Barry and Fran Weissler, handling the Broadway and National touring productions of the Broadway musical Chicago, soon to star "American Idol" judge and Grammy Award nominee Kara DioGuardi.

Over the years, Stewart has been responsible for putting numerous stars and celebrities into the show, including Christie Brinkley, Sofia Vergara ("Modern Family"), Kelly Osbourne, Matthew Settle ("Gossip Girl"), AshLee Simpson, Chandra Wilson ("Grey's Anatomy"), Jerry Springer, Michelle Williams (Destiny's Child), Aida Turturro ("The Sopranos"), Kevin Richardson (Backstreet Boys) and many others.

In addition to Chicago, Stewart and Whitley are also casting forthcoming national tour of La Cage Aux Folles starring George Hamilton, and several projects under development including the new musical Yank! by Joe and David Zellnik, directed by David Cromer.

Past credits include the 2010 Tony winning revival of La Cage Aux Folles (starring Kelsey Grammer, Harvey Fierstein, Douglas Hodge) and the West End Premiere of Neil LaBute's Fat Pig (ATG co-production).

Duncan Stewart AND COMPANY will also handle other legit projects including the U.S. casting of Michael Jackson's Thriller Live (West End), the Radio City Christmas Spectacular (New York) and various regional Theater Productions.
