Drury Lane Theatre Presents SEUSSICAL, Opening 4/24

SEUSSICAL, the exuberant children's musical, will be presented from April 24 through June 1 at Drury Lane Theatre, 100 Drury Lane. The whimsical production, based on over 14 beloved stories by children's author Dr. Seuss, is Directed and Choreographed by Jeff Award-winner Rachel Rockwell, with Musical Direction by Michael Mahler. Drury Lane Theatre also offers families the special opportunity to meet the cast at breakfast with the SEUSSICAL characters on select performance dates, with a kid-friendly buffet-style menu.

A musical for all ages, SEUSSICAL is an enchanting celebration of friendship, compassion, bravery, and the power of the imagination. Audiences will be transported to the fantastical world of the Whos, with elements from Dr. Seuss classics including The Cat in the Hat, Horton Hears a Who, Horton Sits on the Egg, Yertle the Turtle and Other Stories, McElligot's Pool, and Oh, The Places You'll Go! The musical initially premiered on Broadway in 2000 and has since had two U.S. National Tours and a U.K. Tour. SEUSSICAL was co-conceived by Eric Idle and features a Book by Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty, with Music by Flaherty and Lyrics by Ahrens.

The production stars Keeley Vasquez as "Mayzie," George Keating as the "Cat in the Hat," Michael Lindner as "Horton," Dara Cameron as "Gertrude," Summer Smart as "Mrs. Mayor," Lisa Estridge as "Sour Kangaroo," Rebecca Pink as "Bird Girl," Devin DeSantis, Scott Alan Jones and Joey Stone as "Wickersham Brother," and Peyton Shaffer and Emily Leahy as "Jo Jo."

The artistic team for SEUSSICAL is led by Director Rachel Rockwell with Musical Direction by Michael Mahler, Lighting Design by Cassie Mings, Scenic Design by Kevin Depinet, Props Design by Nick Haggestad, Original Sound Design by Cecil Averett, and Costume Coordination by Erika Senase.

A meet-and-greet breakfast with the SEUSSICAL characters is offered on April 27, May 11, May 18, May 25, and June 1 at 11:30 a.m., with the performance at 10 a.m. or 1 p.m. The Breakfast Buffet package price for adults is $25.00 and $22.00 for children 12 and under.

Regular performances are at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday through Friday and Saturdays at 10:00 a.m. or 1:00 p.m. (except for Saturday, May 4). There will also be a 10:00 a.m. performance on Tuesday, April 30. Performance only tickets are available for $12 and a group rate of $10 per person is available for parties of 20 or more.
