THE PLATFORM is a new concert series created by composer Drew Gasparini for the purpose of giving new writers, singers and artists a Platform to showcase their work in front of a New York audience.  The show will be at THE FLUTE in Gramercy.

The evening, which begins at 8 PM, will be hosted by Drew Gasparini who says this about the concert series:  “After Monday Nights New Voices ended last year, there hasn’t been a whole lot of concerts that showcase the new people in New York City.  I think it’s important to give them the support it takes to feel noticed out here, especially because there is so much great talent.  So this is my little spin on a ‘new voices’ kind of concert series.”

New talent that will be celebrated on December 2nd include Monet Sabel, Keith White, Alexander Boikai, Justin Luciano, and Emily Kay Shrader.  They will be singing the material of new composers Zack Zadek, Alexander Sage Oyen, Rob DelGaudio, Benjamin Velez, and Shapiro & Christensen with special appearances by Jonathan Reid Gealt, Joey Contreras and special performances by Broadway’s Lilli Cooper (Spring Awakening), Ben Fankhauser (Newsies) and Blake Daniel (Spring Awakening).

Gasparini is currently in the midst of recording his first musical theatre compilation album featuring some of Broadway’s greatest talents, and you can hear his songs on the upcoming Season 2 of SMASH on NBC.

The Flute Theatre is located in NYC at 40 East 20th Street. There is a $10 cover and a two-drink minimum (18+); for reservations call (212) 529-2870 or visit www.FluteBar.com
