Doris Day announced today the planned release of "My Heart," the Working Title of her new CD.  The CD is a remastered compilation of eight previously unreleased tracks Day recorded for her 1980s television shows and series -- along with four Doris Day classics.

"These songs all mean so much to me," Day, said from her Carmel Valley home. "They bring back happy memories of my friends who appeared on TV with me, my animal friends, and most of all, my son Terry."

The final track on the album, "Happy Endings," was co-written by Terry Melcher, who is well remembered in the music industry as songwriter and producer for The Beach Boys and others. Terry died in 2004, but this recording captures his early performance of the tune, and Day provides a new spoken-word introduction for her fans.

"My Heart" will be released in the the UK this fall, with a U.S. release in negotiations.

Sony has indicated they are delighted to have a new release from Doris, and think her UK fans will be thrilled to hear from her. Doris' gift is giving songs a timeless quality, and she delivers here  beautifully, just as she always has.
