According to Variety, Marc Forster will helm CHRISTOPHER ROBIN, Disney's previously announced live-action adaptation of A.A. Milne's classic children's book. Alex Ross Perry will pen the script.

The film will center on Christopher Robin, the little boy who befriends the lovable bear Pooh. Sources reveal that the film "will share similarities with Seth MacFarlane's fantasy-buddy film "Ted," but center more on family fun than vulgarities."

Milne created Winnie the Pooh for a collection of storybooks which include "Winnie-the-Pooh" (1926) and "The House at Pooh Corner" (1928). Disney first acquired the rights to the character in 1961. Since that the time, the studio has produced animated TV shows and four feature films including "The Tigger Movie," "Piglet's Big Movie," "Pooh's Heffalump Movie," and "Winnie the Pooh."

Disney's 'Pooh' project is not the only one in the works. FOX Searchlight is currently developing "Goodbye Christopher Robin," starring Margot Robbie and Domhnall Gleeson.
