Director Josh Fox Plans Film Adaptation of Ibsen's ENEMY OF THE PEOPLE

By:

Variety reports that Josh Fox, the Oscar-nominated director of 'Gasland' is currently developing a contemporary version of Henrik Ibsen's 1882 play, ENEMY OF THE PEOPLE.

According to the report, Greg Ammon of Uneac Entertainment will back the project. The story centers on a town's tannery that is contaminating the waters and sickening vacationers.

Fox recently told Variety, "Despite the fact that the play is 130 years of age, it truly feels as though something that's very evocative at this time. One benefit of using a classic is you realize that it really works before audiences." The writer plans to set his contemporary film in the Catskill mountains.

Fox hopes to cast actor Mark Ruffalo in the lead role. Shooting on the project is set to begin this summer.
