BroadwayWorld.com has learned that Tony-winner Dick Latessa has joined the cast of PROMISES, PROMISES in the role of Dr. Dreyfus. Also joining the cast will be Ken Land as Jesse Vanderhof, Sean Martin Hingston as Mr. Eichelberg and Peter Benson as Mr. Kirkeby.
The show's ensemble will consist of Cameron Adams, Ashley Amber, Helen Anker, Nathan Balser, Wendi Bergamini, Nikki Renee Daniels, Sarah Jane Everman, Chelsea Krombach, Keith Kuhl, Matt Loehr, Mayumi Miguel, Brian O'Brien, Sarah O'Gleby, Adam Perry, Megan Sikora, Matt Wall, Ryan Watkinson and Kristen Beth Williams.
Dick Latessa made his Broadway debut in The Education of H*Y*M*A*N K*A*P*L*A*N in 1968. Additional theatre credits include Follies, Rags, The Cherry Orchard, Damn Yankees, A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum, Awake and Sing!, Cabaret, and Hairspray, for which he won both the Tony and Drama Desk Award for Best Featured Actor in a Musical. Throughout the years he also has been featured in several Neil Simon plays, including Chapter Two, I Ought to Be in Pictures, Brighton Beach Memoirs, Broadway Bound, Rumors, and Proposals. His screen credits include The Substance of Fire, Alfie, and Stigmata. He has appeared in numerous television movies, including “Izzy and Moe,” “The Trial of Bernhard Goetz, and “Pudd'nhead Wilson,” and primetime series such “Get Smart,” “Mission: Impossible,” “Ironside,” “Spenser: For Hire,” “The Sopranos,” “Ed,” and “Law & Order.”
Acclaimed actor/director Tony Goldwyn will star as J.D. Sheldrake, with Tony Award winner Katie Finneran as Marge MacDougall, and Tony award nominee Brooks Ashmanskas as Mr. Dobitch, joining Emmy Award winner Sean Hayes and Tony and Emmy Award winner Kristin Chenoweth in the musical comedy PROMISES, PROMISES at the Broadway Theater (1681 Broadway). Previews will begin Saturday, March 27th, 2010, at 8pm, with an opening night of Sunday, April 25th, 2010. The first-ever Broadway revival of PROMISES, PROMISES is produced by Broadway Across America (John Gore, Thomas B. McGrath, Beth Williams), Craig Zadan, Neil Meron, Candy Spelling, Pat Addiss and The Weinstein Company.
