Denise Richards is First Celeb Blogger on I-Village's CELEBVILLAGE, Beg. 10/10

I--Village-20010101

iVillage, the essential digital brand for women, announced today the launch of its first signature celebrity blog series, CelebVillage, where many of Hollywood's most buzzed-about women, including film and television actors, musicians and artists, will serve as the "blogger-in-residence" for a one month period. Each week, these high-profile women will share their personal stories, culled from their lives as entertainers, women and mothers, about topics that impact their daily lives -- sparking many conversations among iVillage's engaged and active community of 30 million women.

CelebVillage debuts today with actress and mom Denise Richards, who will post a new blog edition once a week through the month of October. Multiple Grammy-winning and multiplatinum-selling singer Alanis Morissette will host for November, and Emmy-nominated actress, filmmaker and Dancing with the Stars contestant Ricki Lake will participate in December.

Beginning today, visitors can go to www.iVillage.com/celebvillage and read Richards' personal blog about how the star of Spike's Blue Mountain State is juggling life as a new mom to adopted daughter Eloise as well as her older daughters, Sam and Lola. Former Bond girl Richards will share with the iVillage community the joys and challenges that her many onscreen roles bring -- and how she handles them. Richards will also write about the pressures to stay beautiful in Hollywood, and the positive messages about beauty that she's passing down to her girls. As October is Breast Health month, Richards will talk about her work in educating women about breast cancer awareness and the importance of self-examination.

"As a member of the iVillage community, I'm thrilled and honored to share my life experiences with millions of women, who just like me face life's daily challenges of trying to do it all, " said Richards. "I know that all women have a story to share, and I'm looking forward to connecting and hearing from community members on the life lessons they've learned along the way."

Multi-Grammy Award winner singer/songwriter Alanis Morissette will write for CelebVillage for the month of November. The multiplatinum-selling artist will share insight on her new muse, nine-month old son Ever, and how she balances motherhood with her career. Since her debut album, Jagged Little Pill, Morissette has become one of the most influential singer/songwriter/musicians in contemporary music, with over 60 million albums sold worldwide. She is currently in the studio working on a new album that is scheduled for release in 2012.

Ricki Lake first danced into the hearts of millions in America with her transformative role in Hairspray, and continues to do so on the hit ABC show Dancing with the Stars. The newly engaged mom of two and documentarian will debut her new daytime show, The Ricki Lake Show, next spring. Lake will share her thoughts on finding true love the second time around, as well as other insights on parenting and her career.
