Denham, Bridges, Gwiazdowski to Join Cast of 'Inishmore'

Three young actors--Jordan Bridges, Christopher Denham and Jerzy Gwiazdowski--will join the cast of the acclaimed Martin McDonagh play The Lieutenant of Inishmore, beginning Tuesday, August 22, replacing Jeff Binder (James), David Wilmot (Padraic) and Domhnall Gleeson (Davey), respectively.

Binder will play his final performance August 18 and Gleeson and Wilmot will perform theirs on August 20.

The Lieutenant of Inishmore, directed by Wilson Milam, received 5 Tony Award nominations, including Best Play, the Lucille Lortel Award for Outstanding Play and a Village Voice Obie Award.  Coincidentally, both Wilmot and Denham tied for the Lucille Lortel Award for Outstanding Lead Actor this year:  Wilmot for The Lieutenant of Inishmore and Denham for Red Light Winter.

Bridge's New York credits include Big Al and The Dying City, while he has been seen regionally in Looking for Normal (in which he co-starred with father Beau Bridges at the Geffen Playhouse in L.A.), Romeo and Juliet and A Midsummer Night's Dream.  TV credits include "Conviction," "Law and Order: Criminal Intent," "Charmed" and "Dawson's Creek," while film credits include Turn the River, Mona Lisa Smile and Drive Me Crazy.

Denham recently appeared in Adam Rapp's Pulitzer Prize-nominated Red Light Winter, for which he won a Lucille Lortel Award and a Drama League Nomination.  On Broadway, he appeared in the revival of Master Harold...and the boys, opposite Danny Glover, while Off-Broadway, he was seen in Charles Mee's Wintertime at Second Stage. TV and film credits include "Law and Order, S.V.U," Blackbird and Charlie Wilson's War.

Gwiazdowski will be making his Broadway debut.  New York theatre credits include Clocks and Whistles, Ping Pong Diplomacy, Balm in Gilead, Language of Angels, and We Three, and regional credits include Wright Flight: A Symphonic Narrative, The Comedy of Errors, Waiting for Godot, Floyd Collins, and Twelfth Night.  TV and film: credits include"Guiding Light" nad Julie Taymor's upcoming Across the Universe.

The critically acclaimed play began previews at the Lyceum Theatre on April 19 and the official opening was May 3.  Prior to Broadway, The Lieutenant of Inishmore played a sold-out limited run at the Atlantic Theater Company from February 8 – April 9.  "Set on a lonely island, this most surprising new work chronicles the shockingly funny events that come to pass when someone kills Wee Thomas, the beloved cat of an Irish Liberation Army enforcer.  It all builds to a stunning surprise that has audiences laughing in disbelief at every performance," state press notes.

The cast also features David Wilson Barnes as Brendan, Andrew Connolly as Christy, Dashiell Eaves as Joey, Peter Gerety as Donny and Alison Pill as Mairead.  The show is presented by Randall L. Wreghitt, Dede Harris, Atlantic Theater Company (Neil Pepe, Artistic Director, Andrew D. Hamingson, Managing Director), David Lehrer, Harriet Newman Leve & Ron Nicynski, the Zavelson Meyrelles Greiner Group, Mort Swinsky & Redfern Goldman Productions and Ruth Hendel.

The Lieutenant of Inishmore plays Tuesday at 7pm, Wednesday through Saturday at 8pm, with matinees Wednesday and Saturday at 2pm, and Sunday at 3pm.  Tickets on sale by phone at 212-239-6200 and online through Telecharge.com., or in person at the Lyceum Theatre box office.  Ticket prices are $71.25 and $91.25 for all performances except Wednesday matinees, and $71.25, and $81.25 on Wednesday matinees.  Special student ticket price available for $26.25 (all prices include a $1.25 facility fee).   Visit www.InishmoreOnBroadway.com for tickets and more information.
