Sordid Lives is a black comedy about white trash by Del Shores.
When Peggy, a good Christian woman, hits her head on the sink and bleeds to death after tripping over her young lover's wooden legs in a motel room, chaos erupts in Winters, Texas as the family  arrives for the funeral of the matriach.

Each character must come to terms with their own demons complete with the perennially inebriated Juanita, cigarette addicted Sissy,  food addicted Latrelle, cross-dressing "Brother Boy" and his obsession with country singer Tammy Wynette and other southern eccentrics.

There is a free opening night party for cast and audience to meet and greet on  Friday Jan 15 at The Depot at 11 pm. The Depot is located at 1243 NE 11th Ave in Fort Lauderdale 33304. The Depot is friendly neighborhood country bar just like the one in Sordid Lives.

Nominated for over thirty awards, Sordid Lives won 14 Dramalogue Awards during its long run in Los Angeles. It then became a cult movie hit amongst southerners and the  Gay and Lesbian Community.  Most recently, it was a hit TV series on Logo starring Rue McClanahan.

"[This play by] the master of Texas Comedy, Del Shores (Queer As Folk, Southern Baptist Sissies,  Trials and Tribulations of a Trailer  Trash Housewife)  has colorful eccentrics teetering on a Bowie knife's edge between the hilariously improbable and the achingly real." L.A. Times.

"Pick of the Week." L.A. Weekly . Winner of 14 DramaLogue awards
