David Mamet's 'Romance'
GableStage at the Biltmore Hotel is proud to present the Southeastern Premiere of Romance by David Mamet, playing now and running through January 30th, 2007.
The play, by the Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright (Glengarry Glen Ross), is an uproarious, take-no-prisoners courtroom comedy that gleefully lampoons everyone from lawyers and judges, to Arabs and Jews, to gays and chiropractors.
Romance received its World Premiere in March of 2005, at New York City's Atlantic Theatre Company. New York Magazine called it, "A wild ride! For fans of Mamet at his most joyfully vicious, it's everything you ever wanted!" The Wall Street Journal review said, "It made me weep with delight! Romance is funny! Extremely funny!" Newsday's critic acclaimed the play, "A joy! A fiesta of forbidden laughter! The most skillfully constructed farce since Noises Off!"
GableStage is privileged to have assembled an excellent ensemble, comprised of seven of South Florida's best actors; Antonio Amadeo, Matthew Glass, Joe Kimble, David Kwiat, Brandon Morris, Bill Schwartz, and Paul Tei.
Performance Schedule: Thursday, Friday & Saturday at 8pm and Sundays at 2 and 7pm. Individual tickets are $35, $40 on Saturday. There will be one preview on Friday, December 29th at 8pm, and Opening Night is on Saturday, December 30th at 8pm. For more information or to purchase tickets, call the GableStage at 305-445-1119.
