David & Amy Sedaris' THE BOOK OF LIZ to Return to Custom Made Theatre, 7/11-8/11
Elizabeth Donderstock makes delicious cheeseballs. Both original and smoky, mind you. Everyone loves the cheeseballs - in fact, they are all that the religious community of Clusterhaven has left. But when Liz isn't appreciated any more, she decides to try the outside world. There she'll meet Ukrainians with cockney accents, restaurants run by recovering alcoholics, a certain peanut, and her own self-worth.
But will the cheeseballs ever taste the same again?
This hilarious comedy could only emerge from the devilish minds of David (Me Talk Pretty One Day) and Amy (Strangers with Candy) Sedaris!
Directed by the equally devilish Christopher Jenkins (Hedwig and the Angry Inch, Matt and Ben) and featuring the very squeamish Jennie Brick as Sister Elizabeth.
The Book of Liz stars a host of Custom Made regulars: Jennie Brick as Sister Elizabeth Donderstock (we mention her twice because she asked us to), Dave Sikula as Revered Tollhouse, Christopher P. Kelly as Reverend Brightbee, Ashley Cowan as Sister Butterworth, and many, many others. Set Design by Maxx Kurzunski and Eric LaDue. Lights by Maxx Kurzunski.
The Book of Liz is Custom Made's summer fundraising event, and as such, features lots of special deals for subscribers, newcomers, and the odd cheeseball out there.
LIZ is a CMTC special event (not part of the 2012/13 season) so Current Subscribers get $5 off each ticket. Get a free ticket to LIZ when you get a a full season subscription! Go to http://www.custommade.org/subscribe to learn more! Buy single tickets to LIZ by clicking here ($25-$35)
