Davenport Developmental Reading Series Presents Shooting Crows, 4/2

Broadway and Off-Broadway producer Ken Davenport (author of the popular blog, The Producer's Perspective) will present Jack Rushen's Shooting Crows as the ninth selection in THE DAVENPORT DEVELOPMENTAL READING SERIES, for readings of new works (plays and/or musicals), on Monday, April 2nd at the Davenport Studio. SHOOTING CROWS takes place on a farm in Texas during the Great Depression, and follows the relationship between a young girl and her grandfather. When her estranged father escapes from prison and reveals a long-kept secret, their loving relationship changes drastically and she realizes her grandfather is not the man she revered. 

Shooting Crows is the ninth presentation in the Davenport Developmental Reading Series. The series takes place every three months and highlights new plays or musicals from up-and-coming writers. Jack Rushen recently celebrated 25 years in the Biz as an actor and writer, spending many productive years at such wonderful venues as Long Wharf Theater, Hartford Stage, American Shakespeare Theater, and the Hartman, just to name a few.  As a playwright, he has been a semi-finalist at the O'Neill center, Wordsmyth, and Great Plains festival with his play Image, and is a member of the Emerging Artist Theater here in New York, where several of his comedies and dramas have been presented.
