Damocles Productions Presents ACTING ALONE, 11/5-11/21

By:

Nearly 46 years after the assassination of President John F. Kennedy, Damocles Productions will present the world premiere of David M. Korn's Acting Alone, the true story of Lee Harvey Oswald, at the ArcLight Theatre. Directed by Lee Gundersheimer (Obie Award-winning Three Seconds in the Key), Acting Alone performs November 5 through 21 with the official press opening on November 6.

When Lee Harvey Oswald assassinated President John F. Kennedy on November 22, 1963, he was barely 24-years-old. Acting Alone reveals Oswald's fascinating life, focusing on his peripatetic childhood, defection to the Soviet Union and unraveling marriage to his Russian bride upon their return to the United States. Told Rashomon-style through the eyes of Oswald, his enabling mother Marguerite, brother Robert and wife Marina, the play unveils the dramatic events that led to Oswald's showdown with history at Dallas's Dealey Plaza.

Nick Scoullar (Lincoln Center and Hartford Theaterworks) stars as Lee Harvey Oswald. Rounding out the cast are Stephen Graham as his brother Robert, Vivian Neuwirth as his mother Marguerite, and Monika Hunken as his wife Marina. The production team includes Noah Aronson (sound design) and Michelle Beige (production stage manager).

Performances of Acting Alone run November 5 through 21, 2009, Wednesday through Friday at 8:00 pm and Saturday 2:00 pm and 8:00 pm, at the ArcLight Theatre (152 West 71st Street, between Broadway and Columbus Ave., Subway: 1/2/3 to 72nd St.). Tickets are $18 and available on-line at http://www.smarttix.com or by calling (212) 868-4444.
