Dallas Symphony Orchestra Presents John Tesh in Concert

By:

As part of the Deloitte Pops Series, the Dallas Symphony Orchestra presented an engaging evening of music.  With Richard Kaufman as Conductor, the Orchestra performed during the delightful first half, highlighted by a beautiful medley of songs by Hollywood composer Victor Young and a rousing "Shagadelic Suite" from the music of Austin Powers.

The second half of the concert was devoted entirely to John Tesh and his Band.  They performed several numbers that he composed—including "Roundball Rock"—the theme song that NBC used for NBA Basketball games for a number of years, and "Conchetta," a song he wrote for his wife, actress Connie Sellecca.

Mr. Tesh had a warm and friendly manner with the audience and they responded in kind with an enthusiastic response to all his musical numbers.  The entertainment included an accomplished hip-hop dancer whose gyrations thoroughly enthralled the audience with his rapid-fire and witty movements.

At the end of the concert, the applause was deafening. It was apparent that they had been pleased with Mr. Tesh's passionate music and keyboard stylings.  The Meyerson Symphony Hall (with its splendid acoustics) had proved to be the perfect venue for the proceedings.

John Tesh with the Dallas Symphony Orchestra will perform at the Meyerson through October 8.  For more information, please select the link to the Spotlight Package of the Dallas Symphony Orchestra's Pops Series.  Tickets can be purchased by calling 214.692.0203.
