DSI Comedy Theater Presents CHOOSE YOUR OWN MUSICAL!, May-June, Carrboro
This May, DSI Comedy Theater is taking on musical theater as it introduces the fully improvised musical, Choose Your Own Musical!. This take on musical theater runs Saturdays in May and June at 9:30 p.m. starting tonight, May 12.
For anyone who has ever had an idea for a title of a musical, DSI is putting it up stage in Choose Your Own Musical!. The show begins with short form musical theater games to warm the audience up, then, with a title suggestion from the audience, a one-night only, brand new musical begins. The music, lyrics, and choreography will be created right before the audience’s eyes.
In the show’s preview, the audience chose “Sloppy Seconds” and a musical about the illusiveness of time in a town where everyone makes watches was created on the spot.
The show is directed by Ryan Blackledge and the cast includes: Bryan Barnes, Sarah Eldred, Alan Goldstein, Aaron Keck, Ashley Melzer, Rick Skarbez, Shane Smith, Vinny Valdivia, and Arthur Vargas.
All shows take place at DSI Comedy Theater, 200 N. Greensboro Street, located in the Carr Mill Mall between Elmo’s and Southern Rail. Tickets cost $12 and are available online: www.DSIcomedytheater.com.
