The DQT Theater (the Dramatic Question Theater), the multicultural, multigenerational theater company, kicks off its fourth season with a series of special engagement productions for the 2013. This January DQT member Allen Davis will premiere his new production, The Barplay Quintet.

Allen Davis III is a founding member of Dramatic Question Theatre. He was recently the winner of the TADA! For 32 years he directed the Beginning and Professional Unit of the Puerto Rican Traveling Theatre. He is a graduate of Syracuse University and has an MFA from Yale Drama School. He is an alumnus of The New Dramatists and The United States Marine Corp. Just call him "Sarge".

WHAT?
The Barplay Quintet is a vinette of five, individual and intense plays tackling issues of racism, personal/dating relationships, and class, set during different time periods but always at watering hole. The five plays include:

THE CRYING BAR: An arrogant student becomes humanized by her local bartender.

THE BOY COULD SURE SWAT THAT BALL: Set in 1955, three menu discuss the botched lynching of a local Black man and if they should end such crimes and change with the times.

THAT OLD FEELING: A older man on a date with woman realizes he promised this woman a second date over twenty-five years ago and never called - what now?

TAKE BACK ZUCCOTTI PARK: An angry wealthy man wants to take back Zuccotti Park from the Move On Wall Street rabble.

EVERYTHING OLD IS NEW: A unexamined love affair arises set during a time warp.
