DIAL 'M' FOR MURDER Hangs Up at John W. Engeman Theater, 4/11

The John W. Engeman Theater at Northport will end its production of the classic thriller DIAL "M" FOR MURDER on April 11, 2010. It won't be the fashionable style of 1950's London that takes your breath away in this classic psychological thriller. After being named her heir, Tony Wendice, former tennis star, is planning to kill Margot, his wealthy wife. As this clever cat-and-mouse waiting game of half-truths and entrapment unfolds before you, the chills and thrills keep coming until the plot's final twist.

DIAL "M" FOR MURDER is being produced for the John W. Engeman Theater by RICHARD T. DOLCE, the theater's Producing Artistic Director. PETER FLYNN will direct the classic thriller. Peter's credits include numerous Broadway concerts for the Actors' Fund and the critically acclaimed MAN OF LAMANCHA for the John W. Engeman Theater last summer. The Production Manager is MICHAEL J. LESLIE.

The Design Team includes MICHAEL BOTTARI AND RONALD CASE (Set & Costume Designers) who return to the John W. Engeman Theater after designing CRAZY FOR YOU earlier this season. In 2006 they were nominated for the Drama Desk Award and won best set and costume design (Dean's List) for FANNY HILL. THOM WEAVER, (Lighting Designer) who recently designed ReENTRY for Urban Stages and ROMEO AND JULIET for the Arden Theater. SCOTT STAUFFER (Sound Designer) whose Broadway credits include: THE RIVALS, CONTACT, MARIE CHRISTINE, TWELFTH NIGHT, JEKYLL AND HYDE and MAN OF LA MANCHA, OLIVER! for the John W. Engeman Theater; and MARK ADAM RAMPMEYER (Hair and Wig Designer) who most recently designed HAPPY DAYS for both Papermill and Goodspeed, and also worked with Cybill Shepherd on her one woman production of CURVY WIDOW for the Post Street Theatre in San Francisco. He has also designed several John W. Engeman Theater productions including MAN OF LA MANCHA and LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS. The Casting Director is STEPHEN DeANGELIS, who is on staff at Grey Worldwide who casted the new Playhouse Disney series JOHNNY AND THE SPRITES and has cast all of the John W. Engeman Theater's main stage productions to date. The Production Stage Manager is CJ LaROCHE.


The cast of DIAL "M" FOR MURDER features: ED DIXON (Inspector Hubbard) whose many Broadway appearances include SUNDAY IN THE PARK WITH GEORGE, HOW THE GRINCH STOLE CHRISTMAS, GORE VIDAL'S THE BEST MAN, THE ICEMAN COMETH, LES MISERABLES, CYRANO, THE THREE MUSKETEERS, KING OF SCHNORRERS, and THE SCARLET PIMPERNEL; BENJAMIN EAKELEY (Max Halliday) who performed on Broadway in John Doyle's SWEENEY TODD (as standby for Anthony/Tobias/ Beadle) and in the National Tours of SWEENEY TODD and CABARET; THOMAS M. HAMMOND (Tony Wendice) who was most recently seen in NY as Horatio in the acclaimed Off-Broadway production of HAMLET (Theatre for a New Audience), Other New York credits include Brutus in JULIUS CAESAR and THE RECEPTIONIST at Manhattan Theatre Club; MARK LIGHT-ORR (Captain Lesgate) whose New York credits include the critically acclaimed Off-Broadway run of COUNSELLOR AT LAW and the premiere of THE SECOND TOSCA at the 45th Street Theatre ; CAT WALLECK (Margot Wendice) who most recently performed on Broadway in THE ROYAL FAMILY; DUSTIN CHARLES (Thompson) whose credits include MURDER AT THE HOWARD JOHNSON'S (Cider Mill Playhouse and will be appearing in the upcoming film FORGED; and WILLIAM C. BAILEY (Policeman) who has performed in New York in JULIUS CAESAR (Hudson Warehouse), MUCH ADO ABOUT NOTHING and ROMEO AND JULIET for Spontaneous Shakespeare.

The John W. Engeman Theater is Long Island's only year - round professional theater company, utilizing actors from the Broadway union - Actors' Equity Association. Shows are performed year round in the heart of Northport village amidst a scene of elegant restaurants and beautiful boutiques. The newly renovated Theater offers stadium-style seating, a full orchestra pit, state of the art lighting and sound, and a classic wood-paneled piano lounge with full bar.
