Cynthia Nixon Joins 'Pink Campaign on Broadway' Benefit 5/4

Star of stage and screen, Cynthia Nixon, has joined The Cast of The Pink Campaign on Broadway - an inspirational Broadway benefit performance filling the stage with original music and theatre that explores the ways in which breast cancer touches people's lives. Other new additions to the evening include actors Will Rogers ("Gossip Girl," From Up Here) and Charles Shaughnessy (Urinetown, "The Nanny") and directors Michael Berresse ([title of show]) and Marc Bruni (White Christmas).

The Young Professionals Committee of Susan G. Komen for the Cure, New York City Affiliate will present The Pink Campaign on Broadway at the American Airlines Theatre (227 West 42nd St). This one-night only event will take place on Monday, May 4, 2009. Tickets are $100 and $150 and are now on sale at smarttix.com or by calling (212) 868-4444. A limited number of $35 tickets are available with code PINK09.

Directed by David Ruttura (White Christmas, Farragut North) the event will consist of musical performances of original songs by celebrated Broadway composers and artists in the music industry and short plays acted, written and directed by professionals of stage and screen. All these pieces have been inspired by various breast cancer experiences. This exciting event will be hosted and woven together by Saturday Night Live alum Rachel Dratch. All proceeds go directly to the Susan G. Komen for the Cure in the name of the Young Professionals of NYC Komen Affiliate.

Performers include Susan Blackwell ([title of show]) Kerry Butler (Xanadu, Hairspray) Patrick Goodwin (17 Photos of Isabel) Seth Grugle (The Hunchback of Notredame, "American Idol") Rachel Helson (72 Blackeyed Virgins) Richard Kind ("Spin City," "Mad About You") Stephanie March ("Law & Order SVU") Zoe Perry ("Private Practice") Kate Reinders (Wicked, Good Vibrations) Sarah Ries ("Grey's Anatomy") Daphne Rubin-Vega (Rent, Les Miserables) James Leo Ryan (Annie, Show Boat) Marnie Schulenburg ("As the World Turns") Megan Sikora (Curtains, Wicked) Mary Testa (Guys and Dolls, Xanadu) Cathy Trien (Gypsy) and Kit Williamson (Talk Radio). Playwrights include Theresa Rebeck (Mauritius, Spike Heels) Harrison David Rivers (Fell) and RoBert Sternin & Prudence Fraser ("The Nanny"). Directors include Laura Savia (10 Million Miles, Celebration and the Room). Also included are composer and conductor Oran Eldor (Guys & Dolls), lyricist Adam Mathais, composer and lyricist Marcy Heisler & Zina Goldrich (Ever After, Dear Edwina) and singer-songwriter Jeremy Schonfeld (Drift, Ministry of Progress, Home).
