Cultural County And Community Forum

Community Planning Forum and County Cultural Forum to be Held in Conjunction on Thursday, November 2

Broward County Commission's Cultural Division invites all interested citizens including, city mayors and managers, Parks & Recreation directors, civic and community organization leaders, to participate in a joint County Cultural Forum and Community Planning Forum meeting to be held on Thursday, November 2 at 2:00 pm, at the Miramar Town Center City Hall, 2300 Civic Center Place, Miramar, FL 33025.

The Community Planning Forum is the annual meeting of the Broward Cultural Council. An Overview of the current activities of the Division will be facilitated by Mary A. Becht, director of the Broward Cultural Division and the Accomplishments for 2006 and Council Goals for 2007 will be facilitated by architect Anthony Abbate, chair of the Broward Cultural Council. In addition to this panel, requests will be solicited on ideas, needs and comments from the participants, and a survey distributed for feedback on future Council goals.

The County Cultural Forum consists of an update by the Broward Cultural Division on the latest cultural opportunities for municipalities, their arts councils and arts advisory boards. Information will also be shared about arts programming in the City of Miramar . The forum begins at 2:00 pm with a welcome address by Miramar Mayor Lori C. Mosely.

The Broward Cultural Division's County Cultural Forum program is a past recipient of National Association of Counties Achievement Award in recognition of the work to promote responsible, responsive and effective county government. "We hope as many residents as possible will take advantage of this opportunity to participate in shaping cultural issues" says Becht.
