Creede Repertory Theatre Presents ROAD TO MECCA, 7/8
Christy Brandt stars as an eccentric and deeply artistic soul who transforms her home into a strange and wonderful work of art. But both her home - her Mecca, she calls it - and her reluctance to enter an old-age home, are unsettling to her traditional South African community. Written by Athol Fugard and directed by internationally renowned theatre artist, Nagle Jackson, this breathtaking play illuminates the perpetual conflict between young and old, individuality and convention, and the darkness and light in one's own life.
The Road to Mecca will open in CRT's new Ruth Humphreys Brown Theatre on July 8, 2011 at 7:30pm. Tickets are available by calling CRT's Box Office at 719.658.2540 or by visiting www.creederep.org.Don't miss the Celebration of the Arts weekend in Creede on July 15, 16, 17. This weekend of festivities celebrates the opening of the Ruth Humphreys Brown Theatre and commemorates the impact of the arts on the town of Creede.
