Coyote Rep Hosts Summer Rising Moon Fundraiser 8/24

Coyote REP proudly announces their next project, currently in development; a play about a young breast cancer survivor and the particular challenges she faces in light of her age, raising her young child, and the severity of this disease. This event will raise funds for Coyote REP to develop this piece and to raise awareness for the Young Survivors Coalition. The evening will involve a reading of excerpts from the piece as well as from the blog on which it is based, musical entertainment, speeches from breast cancer survivors, a cocktail reception and an auction. The evening's performers include Broadway and Off-Broadway stars and actors with whom Anna trained at The College of Charleston. We are channeling our art to help change social beliefs, attitudes and the behaviors around this disease. We also hope to bring awareness to the issues of funding and research for pre- menopausal breast cancer patients and a cure for this disease, while telling the compelling story of a unique and wonderful individual; Anna Warren Schumacher.

ANNA WARREN SCHUMACHER: is a 30-something year old southern gal living a lovely life in Seattle. After graduating from the College of Charleston with a degree in Theatre, she headed to Seattle to pursue a career as a professional actress. She signed with Topo Swope Talent in 2000. After spending several years acting professionally she married and settled into "adulthood." On October 6th of 2006, Anna heard the words that would shape her life forever: "I'm so sorry, but it is cancer." Anna was diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer. Silas, her newborn son, was 6 months old. Anna had just turned 32. No family history. No warning. No immediate cure. After a mastectomy, chemo, radiation, reconstruction (which included removing the "healthy" breast), and physical therapy, Anna is forging ahead and living her "new normal." She is an active member of The Young Survival Coalition and has been an advocate for young survivors through volunteer work; walking The Breast Cancer 3-day and Race for the Cure, speaking publicly about the plight of the enigma that IS a young woman with breast cancer and raising awareness through her blog: http://dorcasanna.blogspot.com. She was named Puget Sound Affiliate's New Balance Survivor of the Year for 2009.

Andrew Samonsky: Currently starring as Lieutenant Joe Cable in the Broadway production of South Pacific, at Lincoln Center's Vivian Beaumont Theater. Other Credits include National tour: Disney's On the Record (cast recording). Regional: Falsettos opposite Malcolm Gets and Jason Alexander (Actors' Fund); White Christmas (Denver Center); Shenandoah with Scott Bakula (Ford's Theatre); tick, tick...BOOM! (L.A. premiere); Smokey Joe's Cafe; Into the Woods; Forever Plaid; Once Upon a Mattress. TV: "Guiding Light." Guest soloist in concerts around the country. MFA: UC, Irvine.

Jennifer Ferrin: Broadway: Original cast of Tony and Drama Desk Award Winning The 39 Steps. She played the role of Jennifer Munson for three seasons on AS THE WORLD TURNS earning a 2005 Daytime Emmy nomination in the Best Young Actress category and a 2006 Daytime Emmy nomination for Best Supporting Actress. She has appeared on the ABC drama Life on Mars CBS's 3lbs with Stanly Tucci and FX's Rescue Me. She appears in the independent film NONAMES. Currently Jennifer is working on a pilot for TNT for the new drama Bunker Hill. The show has finished filming and is now in the post-production stage.

Chad Goodridge: Chad Goodridge has been seen in "Passing Strange" on Broadway, off-Broadway (The Public Theater - OBIE Award), Berkeley Rep (Bay Area Critics Circle Award). The Spike Lee-directed "Passing Strange The Movie" opens at The IFC Center this August and will be seen nationwide on Video On Demand beginning 8/26. Previous credits include Williamstown, Chautauqua, The Geva, Slant Theater Project, among others. TV includes: One Life to Live, Law & Order:SVU

Emily Ackerman: Associate Artist, The Civilians. This Beautiful City (Vineyard, Humana 2008, Studio, Center Theatre Group), Gone Missing (Barrow Street, ATL), Precious Little (Clubbed Thumb), Well (as Lisa Kron, Arena), The Constant Wife (American Conservatory Theatre & Seattle Rep), Ghosts (Berkeley Rep), The Seagull, Twelfth Night, Love's Labours Lost, (California Shakespeare Theater), Clean Alternatives (59E59th/Edinburgh, Fringe First Award), The People's Temple (Perseverance), St. Joan, The Entertainer, The Weir (Aurora Theatre Company), Kissing the Witch (Magic).
