Coyote REP's RATED M FOR MATURE Extends for FringeNYC Encore Series thru 9/22

By:

Coyote REP has announced that RATED M FOR MATURE by Greg Ayers, a play that was featured in Coyote REP's 2010 Works-in-Development Series, will now be featured in The New York International Fringe Festival's Encore Series! After a successful run in this year's FringeNYC, Rated M for Mature was selected from among nearly 200 FringeNYC productions to move into the SoHo Playhouse for Encores. This special honor gives the production an extension of five more performances, starting Monday, September 10th.

Coyote REP is co-producing the Fringe Encores Series extension of Rated M for Mature along with Ryan Duncan (Shrek, Altar Boyz). The play is inspired by real events and will feature direction from Paul Dobie (currently the Assistant Director of Wicked who also served as AD on the Broadway productions of Thoroughly Modern Millie, Glengarry Glen Ross and Martin Short: Fame Becomes Me).

Rated M for Mature is a dark comedy that centers on Eric, a lonely teen bullied to the breaking point. He finds his refuge in an online fantasy game. But when his computer is taken away, who will pay the price? How far will he go to get it back? Ayers says he was inspired to write the play after reading multiple news articles about teens who lashed out violently as a result of their gaming equipment being restricted.

The cast will feature Jamey Hood (The Shaggs at Playwrights Horizons/NYTW), Brian Munn (currently in Wicked), Ben Hollandsworth (The Mint's A Little Journey), Nick Vennekotter and Patrick Harman.

Rated M for Mature will run as part of Fringe Encore Series at the SoHo Playhouse (15 Vandam St.) with performances on Mon. 9/10 at 8:00pm, Fri. 9/14 at 7pm, Sun. 9/16 at 5:00pm, Thu. 9/20 at 7pm and Sat. 9/22 at 5pm. Tickets can be bought online at www.SoHoPlayhouse.com
