Counter-Productions Theatre presents 'Glengarry Glen Ross'

By:

Winner of the 1984 Pulitzer Prize for Drama, David Mamet's Glengarry Glen Ross revolves around the world of small-time, cutthroat real estate salesmen trying to grind out a living by pushing plots of land on reluctant buyers in a never-ending scramble for their fair share of the "American Dream".

The North Shore based Counter-Productions Theatre Company, adapts Mamet's drama where grown up punks are forced to don business ties amidst an economic recession.

In a recent press statement, director Devon Scalisi, describes this modern American drama as "a show written during an era where the glorification of the almighty dollar had peaked. Now we find the 'American Dream' struggling in a battle for economic liberty."

Incorporating a punk rock soundtrack and stylized lighting, this alternative vision unveils the grittier side of commissioned-based business.

The production features an all male cast including local actors, Ian Conway, Dan Grund, Brian McCarthy, and John Erik Strom with Corey Smith, Rob Gustafson, Chris Clark, and Ted Clement.

Glengarry Glen Ross is presented at The Piano Factory Theatre, 791 Tremont St., Boston, MA and runs from May 30 thru June 15.

Evening shows begin at 8:00 p.m. with matinees at 2:00 p.m. Tickets are $20 each; $15 with student ID. There is $2 discount at the door for ticket buyers with 2 or more tattoos.

Tickets can be purchased by calling (866)-811-4111 or by going to the Counter-Productions website at www.counterproductionstheatre.com.
