Cotuit Center for the Arts, 4404 Falmouth Road, Rte. 28 in Cotuit is proud to present Darwin in Malibu by Crispin Whittell. The show runs October 2-October 25 with performances at 8pm on Friday and Saturday evenings and Sunday matinees at 2pm. Directly following the matinee each Sunday, audience members are invited to participate in a "talk back" session with the director and cast members. Tickets are $20, $18 for seniors and members, $10 for students. To purchase tickets online visit www.CotuitCenterForTheArts.org or call the box office at 508-428-0669. The Passport to the Arts is accepted for this production.

Charles Darwin-the Charles Darwin- is sunbathing through eternity with a view of the Pacific and a girl named Sarah. His peace is rudely disturbed when his friend Thomas Huxley washes up on the beach closely followed by the Bishop of Oxford. The Bishop has decided that the only possible reason that he is not in heaven-that none of them are in heaven-must be Charles Darwin, his great failure. The Bishops reasons his one route to heaven is to bring Darwin back to God. And Darwin, Sarah and Huxley find themselves entangled in an enthralling and thought-provoking comedy about God, science and life on the beach.

Evolution of Art
"Darwin in Malibu" Matinee Workshop for Kids

Michelle Law will conduct two coordinating workshops for children ages 6-10 that will be offered during the matinees on Sunday October 18 & 25 beginning at 1:45pm at the arts center. Students will journey through the Evolution of Art. How have current pieces by popular artists evolved from cave paintings? From hieroglyphics to modern masterpieces, we'll examine the origins of many inventive styles and discuss how they have shaped our world. Each student creates a one-of-a-kind art history book filled with original work inspired by famous art from across the ages. The fee for each workshop is $12, $10 for CCftA members and pre-registration is required by the Friday preceding the chosen workshop date. Enrollment forms may be downloaded at www.CotuitCenterForTheArts.org or you may register by calling 508-428-0669.
