Congress to be Invited to First Performance of GODSPELL

GODSPELL Producer Ken Davenport has announced on his daily blog, "Day by Day", that he will be inviting all 535 members of Congress to be his guests at the very first performance of GODSPELL on October 13.

In the blog, Davenport states that the story of GODSPELL teaches the lesson of how individuals learn how to talk to one another and how to get along, regardless of religion, race or political affiliation. He contends that as our government faces an unprecedented debt crisis that could ultimately lead to devastating economic consequences, our leaders on both sides of the political spectrum need a little reminder on how to overcome unyielding partisanship.

Blogs Davenport, "GODSPELL is the story of a group of people who, at the beginning of the show, can't communicate... ... And then, through the course of the show and thanks to the leadership of one individual, they learn how to talk to one another and how to get along... And by learning what is really important, they learn how to live each day by day together in harmony. ...I can't think of a better time in history when this country and its "parties" could use a little reminder of that."

Davenport plans to send out official invitations today to all 535 members of Congress to see the first performance of GODSPELL at Circle in the Square Theatre this October.
