Common Ground Theatre Announces Upcoming Events And Shows

Common Ground Theatre (www.cgtheatre.com) is a performance and teaching space located in west Durham, offering performing arts and educational groups a flexible, well-equipped alternative space. The Theatre provides a convenient venue for Triangle audiences to experience the diversity of our area's arts and educational offerings. All events listed will be held at Common Ground Theatre. The Theatre is hosting the following events in March, 2011:

One Song Productions Presents: A Midsummer Night's Dream by William Shakespeare
Come experience this magical and beloved classic play written by William Shakespeare. The comedic tale follows the exploits of four lovers, the Duke of Athens, his fiancée, a troupe of "rude mechanicals" set out to produce a play for the Duke's wedding, and the Fairies who observe and meddle in the lives of the mortals. Over the course of one crazy midsummer's night, love will be pursued, captured, lost, switched, enchanted, and finally found again in all it's glory. Directed by Laney Meyer, this show is being produced by One Song Productions, a non-profit student-run theatre group local to the Chapel Hill-Carrboro-Durham area.

Very Normal Productions Presents: Performance Art Night X- ALL STAR WEEKEND
Out of the fire and into the P.A.N.

Come join us for an entire weekend of performance art fun. P.A.N. has reached a milestone with 9 performances over the last 3 years...and for the 10th performance we are pulling out all of the stops. Come enjoy two nights of new pieces and works by previous All-Stars.

Friday, 3/11 at 8pm: NEW WORKS- featuring, Tony Hughes, Dana Marks, Chris Lueck and newcomer Ishai Buchbinder.

Saturday, 3/12 at 1pm: CLOWN WORKSHOP

Saturday, 3/12 at 8pm: CLASSIC REPRISES- old favorites from Black Poetry Theatre, Elliot Turnbull, Randa McNamara, Dylan Grewen, Russell Hames and Tony Hughes.
Admission to the performances is FREE- Donations always welcome

Black Poetry Theatre Presents: Love Letters to my Child...
Black Poetry Theatre presents its second annual Women's Showcase featuring pieces talking to, with, or praying for the children of our future. Love Letters to my Child will be a production of personal testimony and wishes for all the children of the world. It hopes to spotlight the stories, histories, and hopes that we have in our hearts for our children and the desire to prepare them to be something in this world. With this production, BPT seeks to capture the personal stories of women in regards to their children. BPT feel this combination of music, rhythm, words, and expression will create a vital story for generations to come.

Transactors Improv Presents: City of Medicine
Join us for our fourth season of this improvised serial medical drama. Inspired by Grey's Anatomy and E.R., City of Medicine is set at Bull City Medical Center, Durham's newest teaching hospital. The regular cast is joined each show by a special guest who is either saved or killed by our doctors. Don't miss a single episode!
