April 22, 2012 was the graduation for the Commercial Theater Institute's Extensive 16-week Seminar. The Commercial Theatre Institute (CTI) is committed to the development and training of emerging producers and every year a select group of professionals are admitted to this intensive program.

The 16 week program covers a wide range of topics including: choosing material, legal aspects of a show, production budgets, royalty pools, script development, union relationships, working with designers, publicity and advertising. Each class is lead by distinguished industry professionals as lecturers and panelists.

The Commercial Theater Institute is a project of Theatre Development Fund (TDF) and the Broadway League. The program director is Jed Bernstein, who formerly served as Executive Director and then President of the League of American Theatres and Producers. In addition to the 16 Week NYC Intensive, CTI has a wide range of individual classes covering all aspects of commercial theater producing.
