The new incarnation of "Dreamgirls" will arrive at the world famous Apollo Theater in New York City, where it will open for a limited engagement from November 7th through December 5th 2009.

The Tampa Bay Performing Arts Center is delighted to announce that casting is now complete for Wonderland: Alice's New Musical Adventure. Slated to have its world premiere in Tampa on Saturday, Dec. 5, 2009 in TBPAC's Ferguson Hall, with Gregory Boyd, artistic director of Houston's Alley Theatre, directing. The music for Wonderland is from composer Frank Wildhorn (The Civil War and Jekyll & Hyde) with lyrics by Jack Murphy (The Civil War and Jekyll & Hyde) and a book by Murphy and Boyd. Wonderland is the first initiative of the Broadway Genesis Project at the Tampa Bay Performing Arts Center. Broadway Genesis is intended to help create new works of American theater to play the Tampa market, and then possibly tour other performing arts centers or move to Broadway.
Just in time for the 40th anniversary of the Tate-LaBianca murders, EndTimes Productions present the long-awaited New York Premiere of MANSON: THE MUSICAL! A long-running 1990's cult hit in Chicago, this dark musical comedy about Charles Manson features music, book and lyrics developed through improv by the members of Annoyance Theater (including The Office's Kate Flannery).
TACT/The Actors Company Theatre (Scott Alan Evans, Cynthia Harris and Simon Jones, Co-Artistic Directors), the critically-acclaimed company "dedicated to presenting neglected or rarely produced plays of literary merit," will open its 17th Anniversary season with The Late Christopher Bean, a sly 1930's comedy by Pulitzer Prize-winner Sidney Howard based upon "Prenez Garde a la Peinture," by Rene Fauchois.
Broadway Classroom will present its next workshop in the new "Putting it All Together" series on Saturday, December 5, 2009. Taught by Broadway stars Melissa Rae Mahon (CHICAGO, THE PRODUCERS, 42ND STREET) and Sean McKnight (CURTAINS), this innovative 3½-hour workshop includes audition techniques, musical theatre song and movement, and a Q&A with Broadway professionals, as well as lunch at Applebees and a ticket to see SHREK THE MUSICAL.
