BAFTA Los Angeles & American Cinematheque Ends 'BOND AT 50' Retrospective - 6/23/2012

In celebration of the 50th Anniversary of the James Bond film series and the 25th Anniversary of BAFTA Los Angeles, the organization has partnered with American Cinematheque to present a complete retrospective screening series of every official James Bond 007 film, beginning with Dr. No and From Russia With Love on June 8, 2012 at the Egyptian Theatre in Hollywood.

Dixon Place Closes

Dixon Place will present the world premiere of Rachel Klein's Symphony of Shadows: A Tale from the Land Beyond the Veil from June 7-23 at Dixon Place, New York. This movement-based spectacular tells the story of a woman combating a variety of sleep disorders, phantasmagorical night terrors, hypnotic horrors & other visually stunning conjurings from the subconscious depths of her own disturbed mind. Symphony of Shadows merges striking elements of circus & aerial arts, dance & movement, burlesque & operatic productions to vividly illustrate its storyline in a genre-defying form which "evokes a live-action silent film." Symphony of Shadows was commissioned by Dixon Place as a world premiere as part of the theater's Monde Cane original works series.

Free SWINGIN' ON A STAR 40s Musical Celebration Plays at Lincoln Center - 6/23/2012

The New York Public Library for the Performing Arts (Lincoln Center) and The Philhallmonic Society present "Swingin' On A Star"--a musical celebration of the 1940s on Saturday, June 23rd, 2012, 2:30 p.m. at the Bruno Walter Auditorium at Lincoln Center (entrance on 65th and Amsterdam Avenue). The concert is free with general seating.

Sundance Institute Features Five Projects in June Screenwriters Lab, Now thru 6/28 - 6/23/2012

Sundance Institute has announced the 13 projects selected for its annual June Directors and Screenwriters Labs, taking place at the Sundance Resort in Utah from May 28 through June 28. Under the leadership of Michelle Satter, Founding Director of the Institute's Feature Film Program, and the artistic direction of Gyula Gazdag, the projects selected for this year's program include emerging filmmakers and projects from the United States, Italy, Romania, Australia, Algeria, France, Chile and the UK.

Following her opening run at Broadway's newest venue, 54 BELOW presents an encore week of Patti LuPone's cabaret act - FAR AWAY PLACES which will play seven additional performances from Tuesday, June 19 through Saturday, June 23. There will be a special late night performance on Thursday, June 21 at 11:00 p.m. This two-time Tony Award winner, backed by a five-piece band, has thrilled 54 BELOW audiences for the past two weeks.
