Opera San Jose Opens Verdi's IL TROVATORE - 2/9/2013

Opera San Jose continues its 29th season with Giuseppe Verdi's powerful drama, Il trovatore. Eight performances are scheduled from February 9 through 24 at the California Theatre, 345 South First Street in downtown San Jose.

Theatre For The New City Presents OFF THE KING'S ROAD - 2/9/2013

'Off the King's Road' is the first full-length theater production in New York for emerging playwright Neil Koenigsberg, who is well-known in the Hollywood community as a veteran publicist, producer and personal talent manager.

Ars Nova kicks off its 2013 season with The Netflix Plays, which begins performances January 30. This production, the newest installment from Ars Nova's Play Group, is set to play 10 performances from January 30 - February 9. The Netflix Plays, this year's incarnation of Ars Nova's annual Play Group production, features original short plays and live music inspired by the recommendation categories on the Netflix website.

Opera Ebony's Heritage Weekend Debuts Master Class THE ART OF THE SPIRITUAL and More - 2/9/2013

Opera Ebony, the longest running African - American Opera Company in the United States, is celebrating its 40th Anniversary with a special celebration weekend with 2 events. The Art of The Spiritual, - a master class to be taught by Florence Quivar, mezzo-soprano, a prominent Opera singer known for her warm, and rich voice, will be taught on Saturday, February 9, 2013 at 4PM at Church of St. Paul & St. Andrew (Chapel - 263 West 86th Street New York, NY 10024), Admission is $10 (mail payments to: Opera Ebony Guild, 305 West 90th Street, Suite G, New York, NY 10024).

COUGAR THE MUSICAL Celebrates 100th Performance, 2/9 - 2/9/2013

This Saturday, Donna Moore's surprise Off-Broadway hit, Cougar the Musical, will celebrate its 100th performance. Directed and choreography by Tony Award Nominee Lynne Taylor-Corbett. Cougar the Musical began performances on August 10 and opened to rave reviews on August 26, 2012 at St. Luke's Theatre (308 West 46th Street), available through Telecharge.com or by calling (212) 239-6200. Cougar the Musical plays Friday at 8PM; Saturday at 2PM; Sunday at 2PM.
