AMC announced today that Broadway vet Colman Domingo has been named a series regular for the next season of FEAR THE WALKING DEAD. The 'Scottsboro Boys' star portrays 'Strand', described as a "smart and sophisticated man with a mysterious past."
The network also announced that production on season two is now underway in the Baja peninsula in Mexico at Baja Studios, site of the filming for Titanic, Master and Commander and other feature films. The companion series to "The Walking Dead," the #1 show on television among adults 18-49, "Fear the Walking Dead" delivered the highest-rated first season of any series in cable history among total viewers and all key demos in live+3 ratings. The show returns for a second season of 15 episodes next spring.
Domingo recently shot the upcoming film The Birth of a Nation, alongside Armie Hammer. Recent films iclude Selma,Lee Daniel's The Butler and Lincoln. TV credits include a recurring role on The Knick. The actor last appeared on Broadway in 2010's The Scottsboro Boys, for which he was nominated for a Tony Award.
