CoHo Announces NewXNW Play Competition and 2010/2011 Submissions Reminders

By:

New By Northwest Play Competition Submissions are due November 16, 2009. Are you a Playwright of the Pacific NW? Have you written a play about the Pacific NW? CoHo is looking for stories with a strong local connection. First prize is 2/3 of all money donated toward the competition. In addition, CoHo will produce a staged reading of the winning play during the Fertile Ground New Works Festival in January/February 2010! Second price is 1/3 of all money collected in support of the competition. You can download the complete New by Northwest Play Competition Guidelines from our web site: www.cohoproductions.org.

Do you want to support NewXNW? The prize money is contributed from people like YOU. A $10 contribution will mean a lot to these artists! Click here to make a contribution to the NewXNW Play Competition. Thank you so much for your support.

2010/2011 Submissions are due December 7, 2009.

Do you have a show that would be just perfect for the "extremely intimate and friendly little off-off-Broadway style house"? Do you know someone who does? The 2009-2010 deadline is only five weeks away! Are you ready to be a CoHo co-producer yet?
If not, you can download the complete 2010-2011 Submissions Guidelines from our web site: www.cohoproductions.org
We look forward to seeing what you've got for us!

A Different Approach - Co-Production

CoHo is different from many other theatre companies. We co-produce, which means we partner with you to put on a show. Each year CoHo receives submissions from the Portland theatre community. These submissions usually come with key personnel (producer, director, lead actors, designers) attached. CoHo picks three productions, and the shows are produced at the CoHo Theater in Northwest Portland as part of our regular season.
