Cynthia Stillwell Casting has put out a call on Backstage.com for a film version of Broadway's "The Trip to Bountiful," starring Vanessa Williams and Cicely Tyson for the Lifetime. According to the post, the film centers on, "A woman's determination to go home one last time restores hope and faith to her family."
Shooting on the project will begin November 4th through the 30th on location in Atlanta, Ga. Ms. Stillwell is looking to cast stand-ins for both Vanessa Williams and Cicely Tyson. No further details were given at this time. The critically acclaimed revival of Horton Foote's American masterpiece, The Trip to Bountiful recently ended its Broadway run on October 9. Directed by Michael Wilson, the show played at the Stephen Sondheim Theatre (124 W 43rd St).Cicely Tyson, who has been praised with an Academy Award nomination for Sounder and won two Emmy Awards for her iconic portrayal in The Autobiography of Miss Jane Pittman, has returned to Broadway for the first time in over 30 years in The Trip to Bountiful.
