Christopher Plummer to Reprise Role in BARRYMORE in Toronto, 1/27
Christopher Plummer will reprise his starring role in BARRYMORE in Toronto, according to CTV News. The Canadian actor won a Tony Award for his portrayal of the acclaimed American actor.
CTV says that according to producers, the show's 30 performances will be staged at the Elgin Theatre in Toronto between Jan. 27 and March 9, 2011.
Plummer has two Tony awards under his belt: one for his performance in BARRYMORE and the other for his lead role in CYRANO. He first played the late actor in 1996 at the Stratford Theatre Festival in Ontario. Written by William Luce, the play is set in the final year of Barrymore's life.
Plummer returned to the Stratford Theatre Festival this summer to star in THE TEMPEST. The production closes on Sept. 13.
The actor will also be co-starring with Ewan McGregor in a film that will screen at this year's Toronto International Film Festival called Beginners.
