Christina Applegate Leaves NBC's UP ALL NIGHT

By:

In a strange and unexpected departure, Christina Applegate has announced she will be exiting her own NBC series, UP ALL NIGHT, which has struggled in the ratings but will be receiving a reboot in a new format starting later this month when it begins production on Season Three. This news comes mere weeks after the creator of the series, Emily Spivey, parted ways with the once-single-camera, now multi-camera situation comedy.

Applegate, who received a Tony Award nomination for Best Actress In A Musical for her memorable turn in the title role of the most recent Broadway revival of SWEET CHARITY in 2005, expressed bittersweet goodbyes earlier today in her official statement.

"It's been a great experience working on UP ALL NIGHT, but the show has taken a different creative direction and I decided it was best for me to move on to other endeavors."

She continued, "Working with Lorne Michaels has been a dream come true and I am grateful he brought me into his TV family. I will miss the cast, producers and crew, and wish them the best always."

No replacement has been announced at this time. Show stars Will Arnett and Maya Rudolph will presumedly stay with the series when it begins production on nineteen new episodes for Season Three beginning later this month.
