Celebrate Easter at Galli Theater in Manhattan and the Bronx

By:

Kids all ages can cheer on Little Red Riding Hood, as she escapes once again the big bad Wolf, Rumpelstiltskin, as it turns straw into gold and Cinderella as she finds her prince this Easter weekend at Galli Theater. Shows are followed by an acting workshop for kids.

RUMPELSTILTSKIN at Galli Midtown
A pompous miller boasts that his daughter can spin straw into gold. The King demands that she prove her skill. But it will take a miracle! A mischievous dwarf will help her but wants something in return.

CINDERELLA at Galli Seaport
Galli's adaptation is an uplifting remake of the original Grimm story about a pure-hearted girl who loses her mother but finds her prince. Underlying this story of overcoming hardships and finding love, there is the concept of bullying. Cinderella is constantly ridiculed and bullied, just as many children are today. But in the world of theater and the Galli method of acting, this may not be such a horrible thing.

LITTLE RED RIDING HOOD at Galli Bronx
Galli's Little Red Riding Hood is the fairy tale story of a little girl who is seduced by a mean and witty wolf, and then devoured. Little Red engages its audience in song, dance, and comedy along her journey to grandmother's house. The Wolf is almost likable and definitely funny when he asks the kids to howl along and to help him find Little Red.

THE WORKSHOP
In the after-show workshop children are encouraged to dress up in costumes and act out their favorite fairy tale characters. The workshop is followed by a mini performance for the adults. "Galli's Fairytale Theater is a perfect place to bring your children and make them feel comfortable about the stage, the experience of theater, and maybe even the art of being in it," said Carol Cain, Managing Editor of NY Metropolista.
