Cattrall, Spacey & More Talk SWEET BIRD OF YOUTH In New Promo

SEX & THE CITY superstar Kim Cattrall joins with one of Broadway's most popular young leading men in the new West End production of Tennessee Williams's SWEET BIRD OF YOUTH and a new promotional trailer for the production has been released.

Showcasing sexy stars Cattrall and Numrich in elegantly filmed production footage as well as revealing comments from opening night attendees - including no less than Old Vic artistic director Kevin Spacey himself - the new promotional featurette is a continuation of the trailer released last month showcasing the hit revival of the play.

"After SEX & THE CITY was over, she didn't go off and do another series - she didn't go off and capitalize on that sex symbol image; she went to the theatre," two-time Academy Award winner Kevin Spacey glowingly comments of Cattrall.

In speaking of Cattrall's commitment to her challenging part in the play, Spacey candidly opines, "This is the kind of role that not a hell of a lot of women have the guts to do."

SWEET BIRD OF YOUTH depicts the tale of a fading movie star and her handsome young companion as they bicker, battle, barter and booze it up while locked away in a hotel room over a very long weekend as well as the goings-on in Chance's hometown at the same time involving the affluent Finley family.

Geraldine Page and Paul Newman famously starred in the original 1959 production as well as the 1962 feature film. The only previous West End production occurred in 1985 and starred Lauren Bacall and Michael Beck.

SWEET BIRD OF YOUTH plays through August 31 at The Old Vic Theatre in the West End.
